Alumni Mentee Program

Scholar mentees together with an alum mentor and donor

As an artist scholar, you are already refining your technical voice, but the bridge between college and a sustainable career is often built on shared experience. Transitioning into a mentee role with a seasoned alum offers you a backstage pass to the realities of your discipline, as well as skill acquisition guidance. This isn’t just about networking; it’s an intentional partnership between you and the mentor in which questions are encouraged, and steps are taken to sharpen your professional instincts and transform your academic foundation into a resilient, lifelong practice.

This opportunity is open to scholars in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. Priority will be given to 3rd-year scholars and scholars who have not already participated in the mentorship program.

.
Commitment and obligations for the mentorship program are as follows:
  • Fall semester commitment
  • A 1-hour introductory virtual meeting in which the mentor and mentee will introduce themselves and collaborate on a plan of action to be followed for the semester.
  • The mentor and mentee schedule two 45-minute virtual progress check-in meetings at the introductory meeting.
  • Completion of a survey reflecting on your experience as a mentee, submitted at the end of the Fall 2026 semester.
The LAS team will pair you with an alumni mentor based on our knowledge of you and your responses to this form. Mentor pairing is not guaranteed, as it is based on the availability of our alumni volunteers.
