Celebrating Three Decades

Join us May 2-3, 2025 for a weekend of festivities celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Linehan Artist Scholars Program. Mark your calendars. Invitations will be sent out early winter. Update your contact information before Jan 15, 2025.

.

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in UMBC’s history as an institution for the arts. Thirty years ago, Earl and Darielle Linehan saw the importance of enabling young artists to pursue their craft and make a career out of their talents, and gave generously to create the experience that became UMBC’s Linehan Artist Scholars Program. For the past three decades, the program has blended critical study with creative expressions in an interdisciplinary environment where talented young artists find inspiration in each other, spark new thoughts, and are encouraged to reshape the arts, culture, and the world.

Looking ahead to 2025, it will be a year in which we loudly and proudly celebrate our program’s milestone anniversary and UMBC’s ongoing commitment to the arts and recognition of artists as leaders of transformation in our society. Our anniversary celebration will honor the interdisciplinary hallmarks of our program over a two-day event that will engage current scholars, alumni, and friends of the program.

.

Friday | May 2 | Evening Program

The focus is on RECONNECTING, and we are hosting a reception where alums can connect with and across cohorts and faculty members from their departments. Following the reception, alumni will be able to attend either a theatre production, a music concert, or partake in a dance-for-all event.

.
Saturday | May 3 | Day Program

The Linehan Concert Hall will provide the perfect backdrop for a vibrant interdisciplinary concert celebrating the tremendous achievements of the Linehan Artist Scholars Program. Following the concert, guests will be served lunch and can experience the Linehan Alumni Gallery, organized exclusively for this event.
